Costs of Mole Removal Treatment
If you’re thinking about having a mole removed, then the price of treatment is one of the first questions that will come to mind.

Having treatment at a private skin clinic might sound expensive, but it can cost a lot less than many people would imagine, with costs starting at £310. This price is based on laser mole removal or shave excision (a simple procedure requiring no stitches).
If your mole is larger or needs a deeper excision, therefore requiring stitches, a procedure called Elliptical Excision is used and prices here start at £450 given the more involved nature of the treatment.
These prices INCLUDE:
- Local anaesthetic
- Doctor’s/surgeon’s time
- Any dressings and equipment used
- Aftercare advice
There are two other costs to consider.
Mole Removal Consultation Fee
Prior to any treatment, a consultation is carried out with the doctor or surgeon who would be performing the procedure. This allows the medic to examine your mole and confirm the most appropriate removal technique. They will also confirm the price based on the nature of the mole and any relevant discussions.
The mole removal consultation costs £50. However, this cost is redeemable against the cost of treatment carried out on the day.
Mole Testing/Histology Costs
An additional fee is payable for independent testing (histology) of your mole after it has been removed. This is an important test to check for any abnormal cells and it is especially recommended for any changing or pigmented moles. The doctor may deem that this is mandatory if there are any concerns as to the nature of the mole.
Histology is provided at the possible lowest prices for patients and costs start at £85 for the first mole, with subsequent moles at a lower extra cost.
Private Mole Checks & Removal
The London Mole Removal Centre is a private company, offering private mole checks and treatment for unwanted moles and other skin lesions (e.g. cysts, skin tags, warts, verruca, lipoma, xanthelasma). All consultations and treatments are carried out in person by doctors who are specially trained in the latest laser and skin surgery techniques and are highly experienced in the field.
